John Stevens Next year's plans

I know that a lot of golfers are planning their next year's trips. Going south or west, to Myrtle Beach or such. Don't bypass a great area for golf. The upper Midwest. The UP of Michigan has some great courses, Wild Bluff in Brimley, Timberstone in Iron Mountain, Sweetgrass in Escanaba and Greywalls in Marquette. All are or have been nationally rated in the last few years. The best thing is that they are all within easy driving distance of one another. Timberstone, Sweetgrass and Greywalls have… Continue

George Connor The Off-Season for some of us

As winter settles in on the northern half of the country I always tell my students that the next three months are the most valuable. The golfer that will show the most improvement in 2010 is the golfer that puts in the time this winter. Get better golf fitness and permanently fix your bad mechanics this winter. It is much more time efficient to do it when you are not playing your weekly Nassau! Continue

Clint Eugene Moody A sure fire way to help with the yips!

Feeling like you have no chance of making a putt? Missing the entire hole from 8 feet? Or just nervous over really short putts? All these things are usually the effect of confidence being low. And your confidence is low, because of putting inconsistency, lack of line and speed success. This will sound silly, and you will think,..well how will that help. Trust me! This will get you back on track to sinking putts, and building confidence! Usually when golfers are struggling in this department it i… Continue

Dave Teer Rogue Roo

What is your weirdest Roo story? Here is mine, it's Friday morning and I am playing in league and I get to number 3, it is a short par 4 very narrow with a levee running down the left hand side with about 10 feet from the bottom of the levee to the OB fence, also about half way down there is a line of trees on top of the levee. I pull my tee shot into the first tree and am not sure which way it kicked so I assumed it went left. While I am walking toward my ball I send my Roo ahead up and over do… Continue

Clint Eugene Moody Most of my friends usually slice the ball,..need help with it?

Well,..I think most amatuers slice the ball for several reasons. I think the worst thing that I see alot of amatuers doing is, when they are slicing the ball,...aiming more left!! This only promotes the slice, and will never let you build any semblance of a consistant golf swing! Another big mistake is alot of amatuers find themselves swinging with all arms. This creates an "outside to in" swing, which ultimately will almost always result in one thing,...A big ol' slice of "what the *%&@$,".… Continue
